I don't blog very often but I feel quite sad that I will not be able to read what people put on this forum anymore after Sunday. I log in several times a day whilst I am at work (secretly) and I love reading about all the goings on whether it's to do with nature or not. It just gives you an idea of peoples personalaties, whats going on in their lives, their views on nature etc. Yes, maybe the forum did stray away from the "subject" intended but, that's what us humans do. We always bang on about the weather saying "it's to hot" or, "When's the sun gonna shine". It's what we do, it gives us an in sight into the people behind the blogging. That's what builds the picture for me and it gives an insight into what you are all like!

Maybe I have blogged out of turn but, I think that is what it is all about, finding out what you all like about nature as well as your "personal" lives.

Wow thanks for the diary Mr Farmer, quite like old times.

Can almost smell the cider already. Good luck with the process of the wall etc. regards to everyone.

Sorry no-one is interested in the blog. I know I am not a brit now but was only trying to find an alternative to keep everyone together. This will be my last post. Good health and good luck to everyone.

Mr Farmer, How lovely to get up this morning and read the diary thankyou for doing one. I am sure when the weather takes a turn for the worse Thornton will return to the warmth of the farmhouse!lol. I could just imagine to trying to unload the cider press bet you did some cussing. I saw the fox twice last night it did look very thin. The swans look very contented this morning by the side of the lake. Elaine

Thank you for updating the diary, Mr. Farmer. It was very interesting and it`s always been amusing reading about Thornton. I`ll miss him too. Unless, hopefully, you have time to update the diary occasionally. Pat from North Wales.

I shall really miss checking out the website everyday including the Forum. Hopefully it will continue in some form and sincerely hope that the web cams are still going to be available to us. This is the only way some of us have to watch nature at its best. Have "met" a lot of interesting people on this forum and would like very much for it to continue, Mr. Farmer even though it must be a lot of extra work. Loved reading the Diary tonight. I am not sure if it was Monday night or Tuesday but i was looking in on the Badger and i saw a couple, of them having a right old spat, did anyone else manage to catch it, it looked quite vicious even for the pecking order. Maybe one was saying to the other move on i am boss now. I always feel so sorry for them when that happens but i know its natures way.

I could not sleep last night and was watching the Ranga cam there are some beautiful colours to be seen its quite breathtaking in the early hours. That's when i saw the Osprey exercising ready to take to the skies. I managed to tune into the badgers tonight and saw 5 out together they are so beautiful i would give my hind teeth they are no good any way lol to see one close up and watch it for ages i would be in my glory.

When my daughter passes her driving test we have spoken about visiting Denbury as she knows i love it so much so maybe one day i will be sat in the hide watching those Badgers for sure. Its definitely on my to do before i die list i can tell you and to explore those woods they will have to come look for me i am afraid lol. Karen Stoke

I was sorry to read that the forum is closing, I've posted on and off for about two years now and loved reading the diary updates and taking a look at the pictures sent in to the gallery (I even sent a few in myself during this time of some wildlife and places of interest shots I have taken while out and about)

However I can understand Mr F's reasons for deciding to close it down, So I will take this opportunity to say a big thanks to Mr F for everything and to say good bye to you all and wish you all the very best for the future. Bec

Sorry Mr Farmer that we have wandered off the wildlife. If we promise to mostly talk wildlife with a bit of personal stuff included and no mention of others in trouble could we please continue for a bit. Now you have given us such a shock perhaps we will pull our socks up and be good bloggers.

Otherwise with Mr Farmers permission pehaps I (with my Son's help who is a programmer) will set up a blog where everyone can post still, even Mr farmer to let us know what is happening on the farm. It would not be on twitter or anything. We have lots of quilting blogs run by one person but everyone can blog (just adding notes as and where they want)or just to read if you don't want to post, then these notes are put on the blog for everyone to read and to respond if they wish. Just an idea as at least it would keep everyone together.

Regards BETTY CANADA

Mary Llandudno I have looked at Twitter today but am not sure what to do as it looks like you only recieve news from those you want to, a bit more secretive I think. Not quite such an open / general forum like this. Really I am quite thick about computers so could be talking rubbish!!!Rose W'canton

RE CLAIRE When it all happened Mr Farmer said he had spoken to her and given permission to post again and that he was satisfied. That was good enough for me. It is his site and ive never taken him to be a fool or one you could put anything over.

To all the friends on here I shall miss you all and Denbury. I know we can watch the cams but the diary made it so real with the news of the daily goings on and about the animals, that scallywag thornton ,and the horses, new arrivals, the geese fledging and so on. We shall never know how the cider press worked and if the cider was good.
Im not sure if I will be happy with twitter Its too large an organization, we knew who ran this one and I felt secure, I shall have to think about it.I think I said before it helped me over a difficult time when I had been told I had a cancer and was going through all the tests it seems that the lymphoma I have is a low grade and I dont have to have any treatment at the moment only check ups every 12 weeks so I keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. As VAL PERTH said it helped her too MR farmer you will never know how many you have given some happiness too.
Having said all this I do know that it has been hard work for him ive often thought it must be a chore to have to do that diary and check all the posts each evening after a busy day on the farm and I do thank him .
love and best wishes to every one all the friends on here MARY LLANDUDNO

Karen, don't let this get you down, we have all enjoyed it over the years and had some good laughs. Always remember there are worse things in life if that is any comfort to you and knowing you, you will find something else of interest. I am going away this morning for a weeks break and I know for a fact that the ospreys will have fledged when I get back. They always do as I am always away as this next week answers. Who knows we may all find each again one day. Love to you all. Elsie
