well it dorsnt look so windy in lol as it does in denbury this morning. and once agagin we have got rain. I hope this will not affect the number of people who support cancer research each year at the race for life. Picnic looks as if it will be eaten in car but never mind. Its only once a year and all for a good cause. Elsie lovely to hear from you again. All three owls present and correct this morning. Well I will have to get on as we are out by 9 15 and still got sandwhiches to make. Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing take care. Sue. N Notts.

Vicky I do hope you enjoy your visit to Denbury. I think that we have a Maxi Midi and Mini again this year with the owlets. I also think that Maxi is the one who insists on venturing out of the nest box, but am I also correct in thinking that last year the owlets waited until they had more of their adult feathers before venturing out. I am so happy that all is well with the young ospreys, we have had terrible weather lately with high winds and heavy rain but they have survived. I still have my blackbird family here, I had thought that they would have left when I was away for a few days but thankfully they are still here. I also have lots of dunnocks this year which is good as I started with only 2 a few years ago, however it only takes 2 to start a family. Val Perth

Hello Everyone
Just been watching the owlets. All three screeching for food (rather like the young ospreys recently), then one decided to jump up to the opening at the back. The biggest one then turned round and stared briefly through the 'window' through which we watch them, then flew at it, obviously thinking it was a way out. Do hope it didn't hurt itself too much. So glad to read that Mabel caught herself 4 fish ,at least she will be able to feed herself on the migration, I am dreading it .My daughter in yorkshire has got withdrawal symptons because her modem in down, she has been trying to catch up with the ospreys on the school computer where she helps out , but also going into the local library .She may have to wait until end of month before its fixed but by then she will be in cornwall with us so can catch up then .It gets us all hooked doesnt it she says its the first thing she looks at when she gets up in morning oh well .pauline Fraddon Cornwall

Welcome back Elsie hope you had a relaxing break with your family, yes it is nice to see some old friends back its wonderful in fact, i hope they keep posting. You are right about this weather its disgustingly cold isnt it, it gets right in your bones.

Mary i missed the intruder with Mabel she is amazing!.

Look at the colours ladies on the ranga cam its nice today, lovely blue skies and white fluffy clouds when i last looked. Last night our time it was beautiful yet again. I look there last it relaxes me the beautiful tones of greens and blues i see pinks in there as well.
The Badgers were out a long time last night which was good to watch.

Robins comp is still down i see as we have heard nothing from him for ages. Imagine if the forum had been stopped what a shock he would have had on his return lol. And Jill shes had no Internet access for two weeks, but i bet she has had a wonderful time.

Margaret, how are you doing we havent heard from you for ages how are you and how are your birds going on i miss you posts they made me smile so.

Well I have to say how nice it is to have some of our old friends back on the forum. lovely to hear from you all again. Have just been watching one of the young Osprey chicks flying round the loch, what beautiful birds in flight. I haven't seen the Kingfisher at all up to now, saw it a few times last year, especially on one occasion when Mr Farmer zoomed right in to it, beautiful bird. Isn't this awful weather for July. I hope we are not having another summer like last year, it has been really cold here, unbievable really. It seems my garden is a haunt for Wood Pigeons and Collered Doves as I no sooner put food out for the other birds that they are there, I am sure they sit some where watching me. Have a good weekend everyone. Elsie

Laura Crediton, they like Walnuts! i bet they do. I would love to hear them crunching nuts, i really would this is fascinating stuff learning the badgers palette aren't they adaptable, thank you for that, i pass all these little bits of info to Jordan he loves hearing stuff like this as i do. The other day i asked him how do you get pollen off say your shirt if you get it on he looked at me said rub it? i replied NO! wash it was his next answer NO! i replied hes looking up trying to think i said sellotape he said sellotape as though i had gone daft so i explained well that was it he was out amongst my Lillie's, dabbing a cloth on to the pollen, then he did the sellotape trick oh bless he thought it was brilliant! the next night he came he said Karen do you know any more tricks lol.
I should imagine Vicky is at denbury now oh how i envy you have a wonderful time as you will indeed. Could i be so bold as to ask if you'd take a shot at the cider press i am interested in seeing it.

Early hours this morning the colours on the Ranga Cam breathtaking. Am i still seeing Auras does any one know? those owlets are so comical its how they bob there heads adorable little things. Karen Stoke
