One of the nice things about living in Florida is we have Ospreys all year long. When I go to work I have to cross this real high bridge (about 65 foot clearance for water traffic), it allows sail boats to go under without having to stop traffic and open the bridge up. Every evening on the way home when I cross the bridge there is an Osprey sitting on the railing looking down at the water as traffic wizzes by him. I wished I could get a picture of him but its hard to drive and take a picture. Maybe one of these days. Also behind my house is a small river and there's a Osprey nest there. This weekend while I was out working in my garden, the Ospreys took the sky and letting the world know they were up in the sky. I love watching them.

Karen Stoke, thanks for remembering about my dogs and the butterflies. The boys are doing great and right now I have about 30 black swallowtail caterpillars. Even though I haven't written much, I still read the forum and as always, love your stories.

Hi all, just to let you know that I am still here, sorry I have'nt posted for a few days. Bet you never even missed me!lol Have just been so busy both at work and at home. I am still managing to watch the badgers. Bet that was Vickys mum feeding them last night, am hoping to catch sight of Vicky feeding them again, still plenty of time left for that.
Jill it sounds as though you had a really wonderful time this year. Do post some more about the things you did and saw.
Karen it is hot and humid here, know I shouldn't say this but I wish it would rain to cool things down a bit.
Elsie hope you are feeling better soon.
It is nice to see that we have some newcomers to the forum!
Ken Welcome hope you like being the only male between all us ladies? You could tell your friends that you have your very own harem! Elaine

Please post more about your two weeks its so interesting Jill.

Well i am busy cleaning as the weather has not picked up yet, we have rain here, but its humid maybe storms, are on there way before it makes i change for this Indian summer i have demanded lol.
I have just looked in on the cam hoping to catch the Kingfisher as i am watching deal or no deal too and i saw the biggest fish swimming near to the surface around the branch then it leapt out of the water a few times it was brilliant to watch! i dont know what it was but it was massive and silver looking. I am going back to have another look see if it doesn't return, or maybe i might spot the Kingfisher before i turn this dam hoover on again.

Vicky that was lucky to see on your walk you are so lucky to be there best of luck with the Kingfisher shot. Karen Stoke

I think you'll find Ken there is a fault at SWT. I have had no Osprey cam all day, the 'falls of clyde' cam may not be working at the moment, the Peregrines have fledged I think and the falls don't seem to be on at the moment.
You can get up to date info if when you go to the Osprey cam, you click on the 'latest blog' at the top of the page.

20th - at about 2.30am this morning the youngest owlet fell from the tray. The owner has now found and replaced it back in the nestbox.

Hello again. Ken here. I have made sure that Firefox has the correct versions of Media Player and Java.Sometimes the camera loads and other times it does not. This morning at 0920 it opened fine, now at 1143 it is not. Even Internet Explore does the same. However, I can connect into the BarnCam and NestCam first time. The Pergrine camera at Falls of Clyde does not open at all. Is that nest site no longer covered? Perhaps it is a fault with the SWT equipment and/or the server.

Regards...Ken

2.40 am uk time. All 3 owlets on ledge when adult flew in barn with food item. All 3 flapped their wings and one got pushed off the shelf to the floor. The smallest one (I think).

Adult landed with prey and one owl grabbed it and jumped in the box to eat it. Other just stayed on the shelf. Hopefully mum will feed the little one on the floor. Betty Canada
