It might be possible that the adults have started another brood like last year and these ones are getting less as a consequence.

Hello - I too am very sad to hear about the owlet but the other two seem okay - they must be full up at the moment because I think I can see a mouse lying in the front corner. Saving it for later no doubt. Gal Pam. Norfolk.

So sad about the owlet, they do seem to be hungry, I can't remember long spells of going without food before, I suppose the weather may make hunting difficult.

Sadly the owlet has died. It was collected from the nest box but died en-route to the vet. BOT think possibly starvation. Shame we public had to wait until today to find out, giving us a bit of worry in the meantime. However,at least the other two have a good chance of making it now

I can't sleep after todays events. Still crying with the image of her hanging upside down and the subsequent fall. I have mailed the bot as well and hope we have more information tomorrow

I was watching the cameras this morning when all this happened. I was watching to see when she would be returned after her fall last night, and saw the whole thing. It was very upsetting to watch. I was also in contact with the bot as soon as it happened.
7:31 Wed 21 Jul 10
They werent aware that she'd slipped after putting her back, they were alerted by the bot. The farmer came back by which time she'd had the fall. They then asked him to remove her so they could then go down and check her over as she was clearly not right.

Where did they find the owlet? One version says she was hanging upside down. How did she manage to fall back into the nest? Can't get my head around this one!!Do hope she will be ok. Tina

He put her back just before noon today, she got her talon caught on the edge of the entrance and hung upside down for 5 minutes, before falling head first into the nest, barely able to move or stand.

Im worried about the owl chick , yesterday the farmer put it back in the box himself but the trust are going to look at it which makes me think that there was something wrong this time. I suppose if it is injured they will take it back to the trust to try to help it . I bet that farmer has said some naughty words, as if he hasnt got enough to do without keep rescuing owlets.
I dont remember anything like this before im sure they were older and had most of their feathers before they went outside mary llandudno
