I haven't heard from Robin in quite a while now, as I know he is a very sick man I can't rule out that he in hospital. Had it been his computer he would have had it repaired by now. Anyway, whatever is wrong he will know all our thoughts are with him. I could scream at this weather, went out to peg towels out and it was starting to rain, now I have come back in, it has cleared up. Elsie

Just had the hatchery cam on, it is showing the valley. I put it on full screen and the tree behind the pole, shows a great big black dog with two eyes and its nose, the enchanted tree also has several faces in it! Thought we only saw them at night!
It looks by the postings I missed a good night at Denbury last night. Never mind there is always tonight to look forward too!

I wonder if the poster of the facebook issue is reading what we are putting on here? If so why don't you post your comments/feelings on here so we know who you are! You must have once belonged to our happy forum to do what you are doing!Elaine

I'm on facebook and use it quite lot but have not seen anything about Denbury forum, I think someone is just stirring things up again. Elaine & Jill,I agree with you both.
I was lucky to catch Mr Farmer zoom in on the deer last night, what sort were they, as I'm not very good at deer species?
Jill, I think Robin must've had a big problem with his computer, he did say he was having problems before he disappeared. Hopefully he will come, I miss him and his humour.

I DONT SEE HOW ANYBODY CAN CLOSE THIS FORUM ONLY MR FARMER SHOULD HE CHOOSE TO. THERE IS NOTHING TO OBJECT TO - WHAT WE HAVE SEEN ON THE CAMS, ON WALKS, IN OUR GARDENS OR VISITS TO INTERESTING PLACES NOW AND AGAIN A MENTION OF SOMETHING IN OUR LIVES LIKE A WEDDING OR A HOLIDAY OR A HAPPY OCCATION IN SOMEONES FAMILY. ALL HIGHLY RESPECTABLE .
THATS WHY I FEEL SAFE ON HERE AS MR FARMER WOULDNT ALLOW ANYTHING THAT WASNT. HAPPY TO SEE THAT MR FARMER SAYS THAT IT WILL CONTINUE AS LONG AS IT IS USED MARY LLANDUDNO

Hi, Jill here ...Oops that was me posting at 8.05.! sorry I forgot to sign myself off as I was about to run for my bus! Elaine I too have an idea but can't reveal it but I think we maybe thinking alike here? I had an invite from a certain someone to join their Facebook but I politely declined as I don't do any of those social networking sites.
This forum is, as has been said before, a lifeline for many people and a friendly place to interact with like-minded wildlife lovers of all kinds, and from all over the world in some cases! Mr. Farmer has very kindly kept it open for us to use. Some of us use it on a daily basis and others less often but its a comfort to many to know its here, and that it can be read and enjoyed by all, as well as the enjoyment we all get from the cams.
Janice welcome back - hope your holiday was good. And you're not alone in not joining Facebook lol its not an age thing, its just a matter of personal choice - I just prefer emailing and Messenger on MSN, and of course this forum and the Osprey blog!
Elsie yes it was grand to see so many badgers out feeding last night and isn't it lovely to see them in full colour before the night-lights take over. Their black and white stripey faces stand out so well.
Has anyone heard from Robin yet? Its not like him to be absent for so long - I hope he's ok.
OK must get on with some work - enjoy your day everyone ...Jill

The forum will only close if it is stopped being used. It now seems to be being used as it had been in the past. Thank you.

Hi All
Just back from a weeks holiday with a friend, missed being able to see all the activity. Super new gallery, look forward to some nice piccys!
Can't believe how the owls have come on, guess they'll be fleeing the box soon.
Just read your posting Jan and am really shocked that someone is being so evil.
How did you come across it? Some time ago a friend invited me to be a member of Facebook, but never quite understood how it works, if you want to contact friends why not just email? Guess it's an age thing.

I am on Facebook Jan but haven't seen it, tried looking but can't find it. How nice it was to see six badgers out together last night, what amused me was, the big male badger seemed to wee on one of the cubs. The fox was there as usual looking for leftovers, we must have had one in our garden the other night as it left its Poo!!. Elsie

Anon posting at 8.05am. I fully agree with you. I was going to post something very similar to you, several names spring to mind but I had better not go there. Last time I said something like that it caused uproar on here.
Surely Mr Farmer it is up to you if the forum closes or are there outside agencies that can do that?
What a very large cider press that is! You will certainly have muscles turning that screw!
Didn't catch the cams last night as I'm still on the laptop and it keeps not responding so gave up and sadly had to watch the telly. I did watch that programme on channel 4 aboout the Amish teenagers, it was very interesting and enlightening as to their life. Elaine

Jan, I'm not on facebook either but can't imagine how someone could be so spiteful to want to try and get this forum banned! If they don't like it, then don't come here! Surely there is no way anyone can ban a forum as this is privately run from Denbury Farm and Mr. Farmer has sole control? Anyway, keep us informed if you see any more malicious posts there - does this person not have the guts to sign their name? What a coward!

Jan, I`m not on facebook but will rely on you and others who are, to keep us updated on the situation. I`ve got no intention of letting it close. I can`t see how they can do that anyway. Pat, North Wales.

Jan that is awful, whoever would want boycott this forum, maybe someone who has a grudge against it. Whoever it is, or for whatever reason, I hope they don't succeed. So many of us look forward to keeping in touch with wild life and to the friends we have made. Elsie

I have been on facebook tonight someone there has started a campaign to boycott this forum and to get it closed. Someone must really hate this forum badly to do that.

Thanks Jill for bringing me up to date on the littlest owlet; it's so sad, even though I must understand that it is 'nature'with as always, the 'survival of the fittest'. Still can't help shedding a tear or two. I do hope all the little (not so little)! swallows survive. Rosemary

Rosemary (Plymouth) - sad to say that the littlest owlet died - if you go to the BOT page and look at the diary entries for last week you will see what happened. Apparently it died of starvation and also an accident that caused it to fall to the barn floor on a couple of occasions. They explain there that it is a wild owl nest and these things happen - but it does ensure that the other two owlets will grow strong and survive to fledging without too much competition for food!
I agree with you the ospreys are taking up a lot of viewing time but the story there has been compelling this year - all too soon our Lady will fly off to her wintering land and then the Laird, leaving the chicks to fend for themselves and follow on when their own SatNav's kick in! They are beautiful juvs aren't they?
The badgers are looking great too - I watched a while last night and between 3 and 6 were out feeding at any one time, as well as that sneaky fox. You are so right, whatever time of year, these cams provide us all with our fix of wildlife watching, for which we are so grateful to Mr. Farmer for providing us with this unique opportunity. Looking forward to seeing the new photo pagaes fill up too - I've sent a few in and I'm sure others will too.... Jill

Good afternoon Everyone,
I know I haven't been posting here as often as previously (could be my addiction to the ospreys)!! Nevertheless, I do look here too from time to time, especially at the swallows. My goodness, they are growing so fast! Soon they will fall out of that little nest if they don't start fledging! It always amazes me how quickly they grow on what appears to be so few flies brought in by their parents. However, I'm glad to see that they seem in very good form. I have also been watching the owlets but can only see two. Has one of them flown away already does anyone know? Last night I saw a rather thin fox, scavenging among the few bits left over by the badgers, don't think it did very well. Back for a moment, to the ospreys, soon they will be gone, and although there will be other small birds and squirrels, and the occasional pine martin to watch out for, it is nice to know that on this website, there is always something of interest to watch throughout the year. Dull and wet here in Plymouth - has summer departed already? I found some fully ripe blackberries in a hedge last week!! Rosemary (Plymouth)
