Well i kind of missed all the action in the Valley with the Stag. So when i saw it on the forum i went to look, it had gone dark by then it was after 10 i saw some movement as they crossed the Valley, i could make them out but they were down by the tree at this time. I have kept popping back and saw some movement at 02:25 something was jumping through the grass, heading towards the tree, so i waited and watched, and squinted, i thought it looked like a badger, at first then i thought it was a fox, so i waited some more and my patient payed off as i saw eyes as it hit the cam then as it got closer there was no mistaking its Fabulous Antlers yes it was a Stag he came up from the tree and made me smile with his large set of antlers they are big he went to the stream and drank some he is still about so i am going to see if i can see any more of him and his harem. yes Jill i adore Deer but the Stags do it for me with those antlers they fascinate me. I love watching the Rutting season, wonderful displays of courtship, second to none in fact for me fabulous stuff it really is.

I watched the badger i saw 7 all together tonight feeding they are so beautiful and then when it quietened down a fox came again i only saw 1 fox though he is a little nervous but the badger seem to let him have a nibble bless um. Karen Stoke

Thanks Mary Llandudno, I still cannot find the deer camera. I'll see if I can get some information from somewhere else. All I can find is the owls and the ospreys.

The Owlets have disappeared from the barn.Jill the Moth man is bringing his trap for me to set up tomorrow night.Like Pat in North Wales I was terrified of moths as a child. Now I can't wait to see what he has caught. We had 31 different species in the middle of July,it was pouring with rain too so hope to do better tomorrow. Will put some photos on when I get chance.Lindsay.

Owlet sitting alone outside nestbox has received a food item which it has now left on the ledge - it then flew towards camera and out of sight - I wonder if it has decided to venture outside? Gal Pam. Norfolk.

Vicky thanks for your comments on my moth pics - I'm no expert but I'm enjoying learning about them. They are one of my favourites too along with butterflies and dragonflies. I'm trying to ID them when I can - they fascinate me as there are so many different species, so I've got an inspection pot with a magnifying lid now that I catch them in to have a proper look at their faces and antenna which are amazing!
Enjoyed watching the deer and stags tonight about 8.30 - the reminded me a bit of Padfoot with their big antlers! Karen, I hope you were watching, I remember how much you loved seeing the reindeer.
Has anyone heard from Margaret (Poole) lately? I hope she's ok .... Jill

Five badgers and two foxes were on Denbury Webcam 1 about 10 mins ago (I lost first message!) The foxes were very wary and kept nipping in and pinching pieces of food. I missed the swan release and the deer, having been out for most of the day - hopefully I might see them tomorrow. Gal Pam. Norfolk.

Elsie, as a youngster i used to love cider i really did, it is one of the most refreshing drinks there is. I always say on a red hot summers day i could just drink a glass of cold cider (Scrumpy) lol but i dont like how it makes you feel, i gave up drinking about 7 years ago it is now i bet. I can honestly say i dont miss it but i liked Newcastle Brown i used to have four bottles a night lol. Oh and Guinness, i adored my Guinness, people used to say to me good god there is more iron in you Karen than in Shelton Bar ( That's an old Foundry place that is no more, it was where they made shells and such in the war i remember as a kid it used to light the sky up when the men were working nights) i could drink a few pints of the Black stuff as well lol. But i dont touch a drop of anything now only my black tea lol.

I think the Cider press is very attractive i love anything like that. Its Shame it has to go in a building really as it looks so beautiful just stood there but the weather would get to it so sad really as it does look so impressive just stood there. When i looked at it i imagined it being worked by folks in days gone by in there old fashioned cloths. I keep going back and having a look, i bet your proud to death of it Mr Farmer its beautiful.

I do hope the Swan doesn't fly off, it will make the remaining one have an inferior complex bless, it needs a mate. I hate to see a Swan on its own it shouldn't be. I missed the release by minutes never mind as long as it stays put.
I had better go back to my painting i am undercoating skirting boards thats a game in its self with my aches lol Karen Stoke

Lovely to see the two swans together, and lets hope you have better luck this time Mr Farmer. What beautiful shots of the moths, there are some beautiful ones. Well Mr Farmer, had a look at your cider press, and it actually looks as ancient as me!!. Hope you get some decent cider from it. I have never tasted it so have no idea what it is like. I was always a beer person, but even can't have that now. What a boring life, lol. Elsie

Jill. Thank you for those tips on catching the big moths. I shall definitely be using them.
