Jill the trap is set up and lit.We shall see how many we get.I sent a picture of a Peppered Moth last night,it is very pretty but it hasn't appeared yet on the gallery. We haven't trapped any large Hawk Moths. The woodland are mostly Scots Pine Beech,Silver Birch, Sycamore and Holly.I don't know enough about which species are attracted to any one plant.Birds have always been my interest.Lindsay.North Yorkshire.

Did anyone see the news about the Guy who has grow chrysanthemum, in Bournemouth i think it said with six hundred varieties in all, he has bred some himself, and named them after family, down to his great granddaughter, i rushed as fast as i could from the kitchen to look. Oh they took your breath, he has done the whole of his garden in them. He has opened his garden up to the public and is getting money given for charity, he said if he had his life all over again he would start it with a chrysanthemum and end it with one aw it made me have a tear of happiness that did and it looked so beautiful.

It has just said on the weather forcast to look out for the Aura in our skies to so dont forget ladies we might see something if we are lucky check the Ranga cam too as i havent been disappointed with it some nights there have been the most amazing colours it takes your breath. Karen Stoke

What a lovely evenings viewing last night with all the stags in the valley, I really loved the stag that was stood near a fence pole and when Mr Farmer zoomed it it stood there looking straight into the camera. Also saw the badgers it is getting harder to tell the cubs from the adults now! I do think that we have another Buster this year, I have noticed that one does seem to charge straight into the middle of the food. At one point last night I saw two foxes trying to get some food. Really sorry to have missed the cat the other night.
I was wondering where Margaret has got to also, is she on her Italian holiday. I know she goes around this time of the year.
Karen, hows your decorating going? Wish mine would make a start!!!! Christmas will be here before they do!!!
Also like many of you I do wish Robin would make contact somehow, the forum is not the same without him!! Wonder if Mr Farmer has any spare meat to tempt him out? lol
If there are any men out there reading this maybe you could come out of hiding and maybe be a Robin mark 2. Elaine

Oh well another summer almost over, our swifts seem to have left on their migration, haven't seen or heard any for three or four days now, its gone so quiet, just the dull roar of the aeroplanes going down to land at Luton and Stansted :(
We still have a few martins flying about, but not many. I think a couple of nests in the high street still have young, but they won't be about much longer, like the ospreys, they will be off to Africa soon.
We had our first really heavy rain dinnertime, even a rumble or two of thunder, noticably cooler too.

Oh wow, I got to see the Kingfisher this morning. What a brilliant green he (or she) is. Its very windy on the lake and he was having a wild ride on the wire. LOL.

I hope everybody has a great day.

RUTH There are 4 cams which are at Denbury farm itself. 1 robin,2 badger ,3 kingfisher and the hatchery. In the evening 123 will show the site where Mr Farmer feeds the badgers the hatchery cam is on the valley where the deer come sometimes.During the day they show all sorts, the horses, the lake with swans and ducks but often he will put the cam onto the birds and they will swim out of sight, feeding the emus , if you see a bare branch sticking out of the water and a wire that is where the kingfisher comes but you have to be lucky to be there at the right moment, anything he thinks will interest us.if he has time and he is a very busy man he will write a diary also check the gallery where some of the cleverer ones post pictures, very good ones they are too. Hope you will stay with us we are always pleased to have new people join the gang. MARY LLANDUDNO

Welcome Ruth,
If you click on the 'Hatchery'cam thumbnail, you will find the valley ( no hatching at the moment so the camera is being put to other uses) Unfortunately I missed all the action with the deer, will keep looking though, would love to see the stag. Hope this helps you find it.

Well i kind of missed all the action in the Valley with the Stag. So when i saw it on the forum i went to look, it had gone dark by then it was after 10 i saw some movement as they crossed the Valley, i could make them out but they were down by the tree at this time. I have kept popping back and saw some movement at 02:25 something was jumping through the grass, heading towards the tree, so i waited and watched, and squinted, i thought it looked like a badger, at first then i thought it was a fox, so i waited some more and my patient payed off as i saw eyes as it hit the cam then as it got closer there was no mistaking its Fabulous Antlers yes it was a Stag he came up from the tree and made me smile with his large set of antlers they are big he went to the stream and drank some he is still about so i am going to see if i can see any more of him and his harem. yes Jill i adore Deer but the Stags do it for me with those antlers they fascinate me. I love watching the Rutting season, wonderful displays of courtship, second to none in fact for me fabulous stuff it really is.

I watched the badger i saw 7 all together tonight feeding they are so beautiful and then when it quietened down a fox came again i only saw 1 fox though he is a little nervous but the badger seem to let him have a nibble bless um. Karen Stoke

Thanks Mary Llandudno, I still cannot find the deer camera. I'll see if I can get some information from somewhere else. All I can find is the owls and the ospreys.
