Karen can you tell me if what you call Blackberries are what we call Brambles. I am having great problems with my computer at present and cant get the Denbury Cams, I am sure you must have seen the blue smoke rising from Perth as I say a few, no, many choice words to my computer. I am hoping to have the problem taken care of tomorrow if not there will be more blue smoke. Val Perth

The lake looks lovely and peaceful tonight as the sun is setting, not long now until the days start to draw in, I've already noticed that it is getting darker a little earlier, Autumn is not far off now, I quite like that time of year, especially as the trees change into their wonderful vibrant oranges and reds and you get those misty dewey mornings. I have the Cams back i dont know if it was just my lap top playing up earlier but i couldn't get them last night?. I have just seen Mr Farmer, and two others put the food down, all i could see were legs lol one was a child, i think its wonderful that kids get to see the Badger as they only see them in books as a rule. I went Blackberrying, last evening with Jordan and the dogs we just got back before it went dark lol, well how disappointing! it was, we got some but not many they aren't nearly ready some of them its a poor year, this year for them, i have enough to make a crumble. An elderly gent shouted to us there arnt many this year are there, i said i know i cant believe it really, he said well lets hope its a good sign and we have a longer summer this year. I doubt it though as many have mentioned the trees colours changing. I have a tree outside Arthur's house and its shedding very badly already i think its a sycamore tree i sweep Arthur's drive every other day to keep it tidy i have my own to do as well. I just wished this Sun would come out but i recon its the affects of the Volcano its so dull here and spitting with rain i am sick of it i really am now i need some sun. I havent been able to get the cams today on Denbury, i will try again after i have sent this post. Karen Stoke

Thanks Mary Llandudno. No, I didn't manage to catch the pigeon. Whenever I went to get it it ran under the balcony divider to next door. However, I continued to feed and water it and on Saturday, when I went to try again, it flew off. So it had been there for five days and whatever ailed it,seemed to get well again. On Thursday, when I first started to feed it, I thought it was a gonner as it spent most of its time with its head tucked into the back of its neck asleep with its feathers fluffed up as they do when they are cold. I suppose it was also in difficulty with no food or water. We are having weird weather and yesterday was rainy and cold and today looks much the same. I notice that some of our trees are changing colour early this year. Have uploaded shots from camera and will get them ready for posting for those who enjoy looking at photos. Rosie's Mum in Toronto

How loveley the valley looks this morning! The sun is shining on it and it looks so peaceful, I think I will spend a while looking at it!
Wendy, west yorks thanks for your reply, I just wondered if you collected them and used them straight away or whether you did freeze them and used them during the winter months for feeding. The birds love the windfall apples from my tree, mainly blackbirds! They are eating what have fallen already. I do leave them on the ground for them. The starlings are the ones that eat them whilst they are still on the tree. When collecting them in the autumn I usually have a bucketful that have been eaten. Hope everyone has a good day! Elaine

Which is the valley cam? Is that Denbury Cam 1 or the Hatchery Cam? Some days (or nights) I feel stupid. I also saw the thin bodied fox tonight. Rosie's Mum

I agree Lindsay its nice to have the forum back as it was and to know Mr. Farmer won't allow any funny business! Well 17 moths is not a bad haul for this time of year - there are still some late breeding moths about so I am looking forward to some interesting photos! I hope you can ID them all too! lol
Elsie I hope you get your laptop AND a stair lift! That will make you mobile and able to computer wherever you are!...Jill (E)

That is why I like this forum it can be controlled.I too am glad we have it back as it was.
Didn't do very well the other night with the Moths as the clouds cleared, Jill.We had 17 species. It is tailing off now I am afraid. That night the temperature dropped to 6 degrees. There will be some interesting photos when I have time to sit down and sort them out.Lindsay.

Elsie, good luck in regards a stair lift/laptop, which ever is best for you.
Mary, LLandudno, I am glad I am not the only one that talks to the computer. Good job it does`nt talk back, yet.! I was watching the Badgers just after 8-30pm and counted 9. Lorna from Devon

Elsie did you see the original comment? I think its been removed now but thanks for your concern - I wasn't upset I just wanted everyone to know it wasn't me that was posting on Twitter - Mr. Farmer got on the case straight away and reassured me so as far as I'm concerned the matter is closed.

Lovely picture of 5/6 badgers out feeding tonight - I love their colours before the night lights come on, their black stripey faces really show up well.

Bec yes I've noticed a few leaves falling and also the elderberry tree out back is dripping with bunches of berries already - a source of competition between the blackbirds and wood pigeons who crash about in the branches getting their fill of the sweet berries. Unfortunately its too far away for me to gather any berries but from experience a couple of handfulls are scrumptious cooked with a blackberry and apple pie! There's another idea for you Elaine! You can then freeze the pies for eating in the winter for a taste of summer!...Jill(E)

Has anyone else noticed that some of the trees are starting to change their colours already? I've noticed quite a few now, it seems Autumn is starting early. Bec
