Just looked in on the Barn Owlets (Owlets not for much longer!) and both are out, one on the tray one on the beam. One then stood on one leg, then the other one did the same. "anything you can do I can do better" springs to mind. Lorna from Devon

I have just looked in on the emu cam again and they are all feeding so it must have been a pre dinner dance that they were doing Val Perth

Mr Farmer dont blame yourself for cutting the the hay before rainfall, you dont have a crystal ball to tell you when we will have a dry spell and you certainly cant trust the WEATHER FORECAST. There seems to be a lot of activity amongst the emus as they are running hither and thither in front of the gate. Not sure if they get fed at this time or are they just having some mad time. Lovely to read all the comments of the activity seen on the webcams when one cannot do the rounds, for one reason or another.Thank you all.
Also Mr Farmers Diary, keeps us abreast of all his busy activities, shame about the Hay, still hope this wind and sunshine today and tomorrow will help, but look out for another downpour Tuesday.
The forecasters(if you can believe them LOL!) dont give us too much hope for an Indian summer, so I think Mr Farmer you could be chasing your tail, trying to get your winter supplies in nice and dry.
So,this year, it really will be a case of 'make hay while the sunshines'

Sorry about your new mown hay getting a soaking Mr. Farmer! Hope you get some sunshine and drying winds for the next few days! Looks nice by the lake just now with a lady obliviously sunbathing while her fella fishes! I hope they know they can be seen on camera in case she decides to do some topless sunbathing! She probably thinks she can't be seen by anyone where they are! LOL ...Jill(E)

Lorna, last year and the first time I saw an owlet lying down on its back with its feet in the air, I phoned BOT and they explained things to me so you are not the only one who gets fooled. Rosie's Mum in Toronto

JANICE GLAD YOU HAVE HEARD SOMETHING IS BEING DONE OVER THE HORSES. I have to say the Welsh Assembly Governmemt is very good over animal welfare. We have lots of wild ponys on the mountains many are rounded up by local farmers and attended to if needed but lots find their way to the food chain I think however WAG have sent all its county inspectors to training sessions run by Redwings and Horse Trust and other societys on how to assess the condition and how to approach these horses etc. several lots were taken away last winter and taken in by rescue centers and there have been prosecutions also, horses not being looked after by the owners ,the horses being taken in by societies .Dont ask me what I say about SUCH PEOPLE and what I call THEM AND WHAT I WOULD DO IF I GOT HOLD OF THEM Mr Farmer couldnt print it but he may learn a few new words mary llandudno

Just a quick update on the horses....
I had a phone call from the Horse Protection people yesterday, who did check out the horses, they are in reasonable health, but the lack of water has been reported and seemingly the RSPCA are already aware of the problem and are investigating who owns them, meanwhile they are having water delivered to them daily by the Inspector from the RSPCA, it's just a question of finding the owners with them at some point. Anyhow I feel easier that someone is watching them.
