Jill E, I thought that I had counted 8 badgers tonight plus Mr Fox.
My moth stated for two days before it flew off.
Simon many thanks for your reply about the kingfisher i did check several times to make sure that they were different sizes. Elaine

tried to have my fix of cameras this morning but cant get any so will have to find time later. Fed up of this weather it feels so strange having to wear warmer clothes and we are still in august where has summer gone. I still have a lot of activity in my house martins nest and a lot of mess you wouldnt think that little birds like that could create all the mess they do. But my window cleaner just laughs and says i am privileged that they choose to come back year after year to have their young . They are such a beautiful sight when they are all flying around. we seem to get quite a few nests here. sue. n notts

Yes Bec,I was standing watching my little birds this morning. There were all sorts including a Greenfinch which I haven't seen for ages.I have 2 feeders that only the little birds can get into. They were really busy, lots of Bluetits a Coal Tit and several Great Tits using them. There was a Song Thrush having a drink from the pond and several Blackbirds already stripping the Mountain Ash of all its berries.I love it when the birds start coming back to the feeders, they are great time wasters!Lindsay.North Yorkshire.

Yes Bec,I've noticed alot more birds on my feeders, they are very hungry. I've also missed the Rye cam, as you said its nice to have it back.
Mr Farmer is there a problem with the Ranga camera, it doesn't show any error message, but even if you wait (ages) it still won't load? Its been off for about a week I think?

Nice to see the Rye cam back on again.

I wonder how our Marbel is getting on, I hope she makes the long journey to her migration and I really hope she comes back again next year, how amazing would that be? especially after all that she went through this year and the illness that nearly claimed her life. Bec

Jill I too have noticed the feel of autumn in the air in the mornings and the evenings are definately starting to draw in as by 8.30 it's almost dark now, I actaully like the autumn, I love seeing the change in colours on all the trees and then we get the winds which blow all the leaves to and along the ground. Hi Everyone. Just had 10 minutes on web cam 1 watching the kingfisher on the branch. A great close-up, thanks Mr Farmer. He sat and bobbed up and down, opening and closing his beak, occasionally turning toward the camera so we could get a great view of his lovely orange breast. A duck swum underneath adding to the great picture. It was just minutes before 6pm your time. He finally dove down into the water.

Glad to see you back Penny Chicago and hope you are well. Greetings from Betty Canada

YORKIE our female osprey has regained most of her weight and she and her mate Laird have raised their chicks. now that the chicks have fledged Lady or Mabel we called her left on the 4th aug on her migration.
Laird has the job of seeing that they can catch fish for themselves and he will be off, the chicks will follow a little later. If you go the the SWT cam 1 site there is a blog written by the staff at lols updated each day ,click on osprey blog above the cam picture it will keep you up to date. mary llandudno

Morning all - oh sorry, afternoon now - pretty quiet on the cams today - apart from our dear sweet owlets - sitting together outside the nestbox on the ledge - preening each other - soon they will fly off too. Empty nest at the LOTL as neither chicks nor Laird have been seen today I don't think - wondering whether they are getting ready for their migration now. Denbury lake looks very peaceful and calm - haven't seen any sign of the swans today either! However glad to see a few emu's there pecking around the feeding trough so there is life about! There's a noticeable drop in temperature today and a bit of an autumnal feel to the air - too soon for that! Let's wait until September at least! I hope its fine for Mr. Farmers hay to dry out. OK will make another round of the cams a bit later....Jill(E)
