Mick, Abby is so cute, love the photo of her wih her nose deep in the snow, wonder what she could smell ? Sorry to hear that you had another sleepless night with her but at least you found out what she had pretty quickly and believe me cystitis is very painful - poor little girl and she couldn't tell you what was wrong and giving her so much pain !
Karen, Florida love the photo of the pelicans
Betty not much longer to go until you are in sunny Florida !
Elsie how are your legs now, hope you are feeling better

Blimey Karen, Fred will have to be really desparate to go out in the snow again then !
Daisy, my daughters cat definately doesn't like the snow and will only go out and follow in Andrea's footsteps where the snow has been trodden down ! my daughter then comes to a dead halt and Daisy has nowhere else to go so she litertally throws herself at her hoping to be caught in her arms - soppy cat !

Jenny, Abby absolutely love it out there in the snow in fact we could not get her to come back in when we called her. I took some photos of her in the snow and when I get a chance I will download them onto my computer and pick out one or two for the web page.
We thought that we had an emergency this week again with her as she kept us up all night with a sharp pain as she kept squealing in pain. We did find in her faeces some sharp pieces of plastic quite big plus other things, but it turned out that she had cystitis instead. I must admit I was relieved about that as it is treatable even though cost me another £100 but she is worth it better than a major operation. At least while the snow is on the ground she can't find anything else to eat. I'll send in a couple of pics in the next few days.
Julia, Happy birthday for yesterday and hope you had a good one.
Karen, Florida Don't rub it in about the weather because at the moment I have lost a lot of my camellias that were in flower plus some buds.

Oh my we have at least 6" of snow and it is still very cold - keep warm everyone !
Mick how did Abby cope with the snow (thats if you had some ?) My son's puppy cocker spaniel couldn't make out what is was and then decided she liked it, so between her and our 4 year old grandson they have had lots of fun in their garden chasing each other - oh to be young again and enjoy the snow!

Its 78 today here in Florida. Went for a motorcyle ride this moring with my hubby, met our motorcycle group and had breakfast. Beautiful morning for a ride. Then I spent the morning in my greenhouse planting Fennel, Dill, Queen's Anne Lace, Milk weed and parsley, all butterfly caterpillar food for the upcoming spring butterfly season. I love my greenhouse!!

Everybody have a great weekend.

There is a Squirrel, going at the feeders on Denbury, there was a beautiful big Jay on there earlier this morning. I have just looked at the Emu i must say they are not my fave as they frighten me they remind me of overgrown Peacocks, and they absolutely terrify me lol. But the emu look beautiful in the Snow but i feel so sorry for them i bet they are freezing bless um. Karen Stoke

Brrrrrrrrr!! Another lovely day here in Denbury - all the animals are just so gorgeous!! Arnie enjoyed his treats - what a cutie he is!! It was a beautiful starry night last night - probably the reason for it being so cold today!! One thing I love about Denbury is the fact that there is no light pollution, so the stars look incredible! Chris and I walked up through the valley and visited the sheep in their field - they all came running towards us to say hello!! Chris was thrilled that his boots stayed clean - it was so icy there was no mud!! When I got back from feeding the animals with Mr. Farmer this afternoon Chris asked how many time I'd fallen down in the mud. I took a minute to realise he was talking about the mud on the back of my jacket!! The lovely friendly sheep had surrounded me looking for biscuits - Thornton's taught them well!! One had tried to climb on my back in order to get a treat - I don't think I've ever laughed quite so much!! They are brilliant!!!
Later I went to feed the meerkats - they are brilliant! "Simples"!!
Going home tomorrow, but, something else I've learnt on this visit is "You know when you've been Tangoed"!! (AND - it takes two!!!)

P.S. We now have recharged batteries - thank-you Mr. and Mrs. Farmer!!
