Sue
Hope your daughter gets on o.k. she's having a bit of a rough time of it at the moment. It does sound more like a cyst or even a boil rather than a blocked duct, I'm sure they'll get it sorted, keep us informed.
Loved the story about your Grandma, I do believe these things happen for a reason.
Robin - don't even go there!
Poor little lambs!
Have you all been watching 'Lambing Live'? It does give us an insight as to all the hard work that goes into putting meat on our table.
Claire - you're a bit quiet - are you o.k.?

All these 'tales of the unexpected' are wonderful. I had one strange thing happen to me.

In 1976 my Grandma died. My parents, for some reason, wouldn't let me go and see her in hospital. I was 18 years old, we had just started have really good chats in the kitchen, and I would have liked to see her.

Anyway, I was very sad when she died. I never got to say goodbye. Now, I need to add here that where we lived (and my parents still do - it's still 'home' to me) was owned by my grandparents and sold to my parents at some point, and they moved a few miles away.

I can remember going upstairs one evening after dinner. As I got to the top of the stairs I casually said "Hello Grandma" and carried on into my bedroom. It seemed perfectly natural for some reason, I wasn't scared and, if anything I felt relaxed about it. Some days later I was lying on my bed, facing the wall and reading a book. Suddenly someone touched my leg. I spun round but there was no-one there. Then I found myself saying "Goodbye Grandma" as I realised that she, or her presence, was in the room. Again I wasn't scared. I had been very upset that I couldn't say goodbye to her and I know that she came back to let me do that. I have never 'seen' her since even though I have wished on many occasions that I could talk to her. I think that she knew I needed to say goodbye and stayed just for that reason until she went on her final journey.

My daughter has gone into hospital this morning to have this lump thing removed. It burst during the night and we were both up at 4.40am cleaning it up. She heard the consultant saying that she didn't think it was a duct blockage (which I didn't either, it's next to the eye) and would come in early today to remove it.

I saw the female owl snoozing in the box yesterday evening. The male had just left with a loud screeching. Sue, Middlesex

Val, we haven't heard from you for quite a while, are you ok? Now the weather is warming up I'm doing a garden spring clean, & starting off my veg seeds in the kitchen window, one of my neighbours died last year & her daughter has given me a lovely strawberry pot, something I've always wanted, I thought I would plant one side with herbs (chives, oregano, lemon thyme & basil) & the other with strawberries, can't wait to see it all planted up. Have you found a new hobby yet, I've started saving any small jars I come across ready for my herbal creams etc. that I hope to start making in the summer. I'm going to take a last look at the owl cam, then off to bed.
Maddi.

I have just re read my post i made a right bodge job of it. I used to watch the haunted house a lot when i joined Denbury, when the other cams went quiet late at night i would flick over to it. It was the Dining room cam i saw the little girl, there was a mirror on the wall and we all used to comment that we could make things out in it, trick of the eye it was in my opinion. I used to pop in to the room in day light to familiarise myself with the surroundings so i knew what was what. There was a rocking horse in the corner ingle i think they are called? and the girl was skipping in front off the rocking horse for what seemed ages it wasn't a glimpse i got of her, i would have put it down to imagination or trick on the eye if she was there just briefly, if i could draw i would draw her and send it in so i will try and describe again what she was wearing the dress was short to the knee with frilly petticoats just showing with bloomers with lace the dress had a blue pattern repeated on it and it tied at the waist, she was smiling and had ringlets, her hair seemed jet black, she looked well kept not a pauper type. It did make me sit up and take a sharp intake of breath i must admit and my stomach turned over in disbelief, i remember blinking a few times but she was still there when i looked back to her. I used to go back and hope to see something again but never did.

What a story that was Janette that would freak me out good style.
I am a very strong believer in premonitions i have them loads its quite strange... When my daughter was very small she was playing on the fronts with her pram and dolls. I was washing up at the time with my back to her,i was staring out of the kitchen window. She had the dog with her, i had at the time, a Red Setter they were inseparable he loved her where Nicola, went he went he was so protective of her. Then in my minds eye i saw a red car come tearing down the road and plow in to her i felt a shudder go through me i rushed out to her and as i walked back towards my flat a red car came tearing round the corner its something i will never forget, i had seen it come down the road in my minds eye but it came from the other direction even so it was freaky. Robin of course you will make it to the summer got to get your fill of the tomatoes you are going to grow!!!!
Karen I remember your posting about the little girl, Sue and I joined denbury a couple of months before Willow was born if that is any help to you so it was after that it may have even been later that year or even the following.
Mr Farmer thank you so much for putting the valley on cam 2 last night. Sadly I didn't see it until this morning. Would really have loved to see the rookery and rooks in flight. Hope all are well. Elaine

I am loving these stories. Glad it isn't night time or I'd be looking under the bed :)

Karen,What a great story. I bet the little girl had been seen by the people who lived there too. That would totally have spooked me but at the same time I would have loved to have seen it-from a distance!
Janice, I have heard of people who have those premonitions. Sad it was about your dad.
I remember I was travelling and my mum was in London living. She was sick (but wasn't expected to die or anything) I suspect it wasn't such a strange happening in light of her being ill. I was going home the following week. I had a letter to mail to her and the mailman would always knock on the door and ask if we had anything to give him- always hesitating to give him the letter.
The days passed and the final day when he asked me I remember thinking I would be home before the letter would arrive and then the phone call telling me my mum had died.
Another time I stayed at a carriage house attached to an old mansion. I was spooked there- Never saw anything but felt I might. I would be scared even in daylight to stay alone- and at night would push the bed over aganst the wall so my husband was on the outside. I'd put my head under the blankets and go to sleep that way glued to him.He felt nothing- Other people who stayed there 'felt' a presence too. However one woman in our group slept in a room off the stairwell. She wasn't bothered at all.

Karen, thank you for that. I haven't seen anything myself on the cam but I don't spend much time watching anyway.
Some good friends of mine (not given to exaggeration or flights of fancy) lived in a lovely old house. One evening a monk passed our friend on the stairs - going down as our friend was going up. It went through the wall of the downstairs study. This happened several times until one day while they were having their evening meal one of their 2 boys asked whether anyone had seen anything strange in the house. It was only then that they each admitted to seeing the same thing. They just learned to live with it and later discovered that the house was built on the site of a monastery.

My mum has had premonitions too, Janice.

Wow Karen, that's a spooky one!
I've looked at the ghost cam many times but never seen anything. I don't exactly know if I believe in ghosts or not, there are a lot of odd things that can't be explained in this world.
My only (thankfully) spooky experience was that on the day my Dad died I knew he was going to die that day. To explain more I should add my Dad wasn't ill, only a week past his 62nd birthday and the day before he was at my son's 5th birthday party, running round the garden with kids on his back! I was on my way to school and the thought just 'popped' into my head that my Dad was going to die! I rang my mother and didn't want to say why, but just to confirm he was o.k., all was well until my husband came home from work very early and as soon as I saw his face, I knew it had happened. You can imagine this shook me rigid! I spoke to my G.P. and he said he'd heard of this sort of thing before, where do we get this information from? I often wondered if I could have prevented it had I spoken up, but was assured he'd had such a massive heart attack even if he'd been in hospital, they couldn't have done anything. I NEVER want to have that feeling again, I'm still spooked by it 33 years on!
Another story I have is that a good (& very sensible) friend of mine moved into a house in Derbyshire which had been constructed from old stone from a chapel. She had lots of activity in the house, doors locking, windows opening, fridge door opening on it's own, her son would not spend a night in his own room, because of the 'man'! They had such a bad time they decided to move and owned up to the new buyer about this, he was exited!! They couldn't wait to be shut of the place, even though it had been their 'dream home'.
Any more spooky tales folks?
We should have saved this for next Halloween!!
On a lighter note, love the aerial ballet going on with the rooks Mr F. You do work hard to please us.

Mary USA i dont believe in ghosts and such, but a few years ago i was looking in on the haunted house, whilst waiting for my sister, to fetch me to go shopping, it was broad daylight. I used to familiarise my eyes with the room in the day so i wasnt mistaken if i did see something i couldn't explain if you know what i mean. Well i was staring at the screen and a girl was skipping in period cloths i saw her quite clearly then she just disappeared as quickly as she had appeared it was quite strange, i remember it so clearly, and always think of her when someone mentions the haunted house. Her dress had blue pattern on the dress she had on short she had frilly pantaloons on are they called? and she was smiling it was so strange. I did post about it at the time but cant remember what year it was, it was a Saturday morning, the girl had long black hair and it was in ringlets and she seemed to be skipping. I thought it was Mr Farmer playing tricks but he assured us it wasn't. As a none believer i feel a bit of a fool posting this but i know what i saw. And you did ask if anyone had seen anything and i did see her i swear to you all on that and she was clear if i never see my own daughter again i swear to you all i saw the little girl in the blue dress skipping as clear as anything i will never forget it ever it freaked me out a bit to be honest. It is a nice sunny morning here again in Wallasey, has been for a few days. But there is no heat in it, my garden pond is still iced over. I am fed up with it all, just hope I make the summer!! Take care all. Robin

Thanks Robin!!

Thanks Lindsay. Whether daughter would wear a bracelet or chain is another matter!! 17 year olds think they're invincible and know it all. Come to think of it, I suppose we did once too. Lovely days.

Mary USA, I've never seen anything on the ghost cam. Sue, Middlesex

Un-named post at 10.59 from East coast of States - yes the view on the Barncam cam is of the outside of the nestbox and shows the location of the box inside the barn. At the moment there is an owl sitting on the beam next to the box and yes I heard the sound of birds coming from the Nestcam cam earlier today so you didn't imagine it! I expect it was the birds outside the barn that were being picked up by the mic. You will hear when the owls clatter onto the platform of the box and then jump inside and start screeching! Jill

Janice thanks for explaining about the cams. This is Mary USA I just love the idea of ghost watching but wasn't sure if it was the wrong times I was looking at them. Have any of you seen a ghost on the cams when they are on. Would love to know.
