We have split the Reindeer up into pairs in stables next to each other, as the darker one was being bullied and did not have a lot of room to get out of the way.

23:55 Father Owl has just gone into the box, not sure if he delivered anything as Mum had got a rodent in her beak when i looked at her, as he was making a right hissing noise as he arrived. When he stepped away that's when i saw the Mother with rodent in her mouth. Karen Stoke

Javert, welcome back i will tell you what i would have had hysterics if i came across a Skunk! i felt very uncomfortable with bag puss but i am the same with all cats i don't know what it is about them they unnerve me, i am more comfortable around dogs. My sister has 4 Japanese Akita`s and when you go to visit her they just pounce on you, but very, very, friendly i am not frightened of them at all she had 6 at one time. But if you put me in a room with six cats i would not like that one bit. Elaine, you must have the patients of a saint! i would not have put up with that, i either hang up or recite the French National Anthem without singing it, it works every times for me lol. And you can bet your bottom dollar i am saying it wrong! but it does work, i would die if they could speak French and answered me lol. I counted 11 Badgers tonight i really enjoyed watching them tonight, as i missed them last night. The Reindeer are just delightful to watch arn`t we lucky. Karen Stoke

Margaret, I sent the e-mail this morning went to get the paper, logged on maybe an hour later and found a reply, I was well impressed, thats the quickest reply I've had. The lady sounds very nice, she also said that if activity continued over the weekend they might do an update on the diary page on the website, so keep checking.
You know its still raining here, I think it stopped for about an hour teatime. Mind you we haven't got anywhere near as bad as Wales, I hope everyone's safe and not at risk from the flooding thats happening, I feel so sorry for those that have been effected. I hope our northern ladies are ok as they say the rain is going to be bad up your way, hope you are all safe and dry. Jan (Herts)

Elaine you should do what I do when I get those kind od phones calls. When I realise they are trying to sell me something I put the phone down straight away, I don't give them the chance to ramble on. They really do annoy me. The reindeer are settled down, all sleeping. See the owl has gone from the barn so must be out hunting. Mr and Mrs Farmer you are going to have so much work to do with more animals to look after that you won't have time to go to bed. Honestly you are both so caring and we all respect you both for it. It is still raining here, hasn't stopped since 7am. Our garden is beginning to look like a lake again. Those poor people in Wales, haven't heard yet if South Yorkshire have got the floods again. It must be very upsetting when you see your home being ruined. You know my Dad always said the bible was written by prophets and when you read it there are so many things in it that are coming true. It makes me think now of Noah and the floods. I no when there the gul war was on there was a chapter in the bible that described it exactly, can't remember now which book and chapter it was but maybe GJ will know. Karen, maybe the cat didn't want you to leave it. Goodnight and God Bless everyone. Elsie

Karen your comments about the rising cost of gas/electric must tell you all this it has had Sue in stitches.
The phone rang about 5pm when I answered it it was some foreign woman from the home advisory service ringing about giving me advice on where to get cheaper gas and electricity after 5 mins she passed me on to her supervisor he was telling me all this stuff saying I should change to this company as I would save x amount of £'s but I don't want to change said I he replied in two working days you will get a letter from us and in 10-14 days you will get a letter from the new energy company, in 6-8 weeks you will be with the new company for both your gas and electric. All the time I kept saying but I don't want to change, he kept saying you will save x amount per year. In the end he said what I am telling you is true because every call is recorded for training purposes if I lie to you I will lose my job, but I don't want to change my supplier. this was nearly 20mins after the phone first rang. In the end I said I don't want you to lose your job, I do not want to change my supplier and I am not being rude to you but you are not listening to me I do not want to change my supplier and I am going to put the phone down. Believe it or not but he started to repeat everything again, so I put the phone down. So stressed I rang Sue and told her she was in hysterics made me feel better cos I could laugh at it then. 20 mins later the phone rang again you won't believe me but it was this blokes supervisor so she then started to tell me what I would save. But I don't want to change said I. You can save this sez she. I am sorry but I got very short and repeated for the umpteeth time But I don't want you to proccess any application for me I don't want to change suppliers. At last success she put the phone down on me!!!!!!!Yes Result. So I rang Sue she was in hysterics yet again.

Mr Farmer I loved watching the Reindeer trotting in and out of the stable when I came in it was magic will have to tell the children on Monday about them. By the way thank you for answering Sue's email. Elaine

18:18 Mother Owl has just returned to the box, what a clumsy landing that was, she almost landed in fact i am sure she did on the one that's in front of the opening in the middle of the box. I hope it will be OK it seems to have been there a bit now hope they will be warm enough?. I have just nipped around the Greenhouse, its still raining, just heard a bad weather report as i came back in, must catch it in full in a min when it comes on. Getting back to the greenhouse i have gone in, and have picked a load then i turned and saw Bag puss in there, i nearly jumped out of my skin! i wasn't expecting him to be there, so when i had finished picking the toms i turned to give him a stroke well it rolled all over on its back really enjoying its fuss then when i went to go it followed me in front it kept turning and looking at me and did ever such a strange thing it arched its back and kept walking in a criss cross so i could not pass it with its tail up in the air. Well i said oh dont you dare spray me or else that's it! i will go hysterical!! you naughty boy. Does any one know what it was doing, as i do not know anything about Cat behaviour, but i could tell it liked me, at least i hope it did. I must admit i am very nervous around cats. Oh dear we have had a months rain in a day, its bad in wales, and the south east i have just watched as one woman is crying as she said she has had enough its heartbreaking that is. Now they are on about gas bills, its enough to send you over the top. They recon it will be a case of eating, or heating, for a lot of people. Karen Stoke

Earlier on today I saw the barn owl sitting on the front beam of the barn next to the box, and notice that he is still in the same place now. I was a bit concerned but then I thought that owls are mainly nocturnal hunters so I should think it is normal behaviour for them to sleep during the day.
I also saw the horses galloping madly around the field earlier on today. At one point I believe that one of the foals was chasing Arnie!
There are 4 reindeer in the barn now who are all munching away happily, and just now they were following one another going in and out of the barn - they look lovely!

Hi all, after seeing the owl in the box on 'Barncam' I e-mailed the Barn Owl Trust asking if they thought it was an adult or not, this is part of the reply.
'From what we can see; we think that the owl in the nestbox doesn't have a ring on its leg so if it's one of 'our' owls it can only be the male because we were unable to ring him.
It could also be a young owl from another nest dispersing to find a home roost.'
If you see any owls over the weekend please feel free to e-mail me.
